The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is to love, and be loved in return ~ Moulin Rouge
This is the story of a powerful love that was doomed from the very beginning, and an age old question that begs to be answered, "can love truimph?". A story of divided alliances, and a fierce hatred that rages between two, and one alliance that refuses to take any part in the feuding.
The sky darkens with the coming of evening, and promise of a storm as the clouds begin to turn a threatening dark gray. A moment later, the heavens open and a gentle downfall of rain starts, drops falling to the earth and soaking two horses below..
"Take me away Espian. We can leave tonight, just disappear!" Pain and pleading is bitingly clear in her voice as the mare stares at her love, her body shaking, her heart crashing to the floor in a thousand pieces. His visage, more beautiful than ever in her loving gaze, is turned from her, as is his powerful, smooth chestnut body, shining and wet now from the soft rain falling from the heavens above them. His determined pace is now taking him away from her.
She races after him, disbelieving the words he threw at her, refusing to accept their fate. The stallion rewards her chase with a sudden harsh and cruel bark, his words destroying her inside.
"There is nothing i can do Nella! You think i WANTED this? You think i am HAPPY with how this turned out? That i cannot ever look at you with the love i feel for you, or touch you? It tears me apart! But i must accept things as they are Nella. You must forget me, as i will forget you" he spits the last words at her. His mind is made up, his heart in ruins, she can do nothing now as she watches him turn for the second time away from her and walk away.
She is left to stand there, alone, her tears silently rolling down the side of her pretty visage and hitting the wet, dark ground as she stares in utter agony at the place where her love disappeared out of sight.
He knew he never meant what he said to her about forgetting, he had said it through his anger and tormenting pain at what had become of them, how their fate had turned out. It just wasn't fair, it wasn't right, but there was nothing he could do. That part was true.

Sorrow and Lies
Once, a great and powerful Realm dominated the land here. Their king, Valior, was a wise, but stern leader. He was a fit King for the equines of his realm, resourceful and courageous. Valior had a brother, Teth, whom he trusted and loved, and he became his Royal Adviser. But little did Valior know, was that Teth was poisoning him slowly. Teth was selfish and greedy, and as Valior grew more ill and more weak, it became more impossible for him to ever suspect what his own brother was doing to him. 3 years passed, and eventually, Valior passed away. The equines was devastated at the news of their King's death, and when they heard that the new king would be Teth, there came a massive uproar. Ultimately, it lead to the entire demise of Valior's Realm. The realm split up into 3 small alliances, each going their seperate ways and finding their own territory in the land.
A dark and malevolent equine named Marxus took up leadership of his new alliance, the Incendists.
Callum, a joyful and proud equine, took up leadership of his new alliance, the Avions.
Finally, an equine named Bolin took up leadership of his new alliance, the Lesions. They became the "neutrals", indifferent to the fights and arguing between the other two alliances.
The Avions soon began to see how ruthless and cruel the Incendists were, and they hated their ways and what they stood for. The Incendists, although a small alliance like the other two, were slowly growing in numbers. More equines that had broken away from Valior's Realm had joined them in support, and this worried the Avions greatly. So they met with the Lesions one night, and told them that they needed to unite and bring down the Incendists, while they are still small in numbers.
The lesion King refused, and he stood by his neutral stance. He wanted nothing to do with the fighting, too consumed in his own affairs to worry about the concerns of the Avions. This disappointed the Avions greatly, but they had no choice but to accept Bolin's decision.
The clever and cunning Marxus devised a plan to drive the Lesions and the Avions further apart. He sent out word that he was holding a tournament. The tournament would involve each side, the Avions, the Lesions and his own, battling one another in one on one battles until one ultimate fighter was left standing. The prize for the winner? He would give his breathtakingly beautiful daughter over, and in addition, agree to a peace treaty between the 2 alliances, that they would all live in the land here in harmony and the territories would be divided amongst them fairly.
Neither the Avions, nor the Lesions, had ever seen Marxus's daughter, but they had heard whispers of her beauty and elegance. The promise of peace between the alliances would mean prosperity for all, and so both sides agreed to the tournament. Espion, an Avion Royal, took place in it to represent the Arions along with 3 other Avion equines. He was determined and a skilled fighter, and he would go to win this lovely mysterious mare for his King, who was in fact his brother, Callum.
The tournament went on for 3 days, each equine battling it out, winning one fight and moving on to their next apponent. The winner? Espian. He came out victorious and he did his alliance proud.
As promised, Marxus handed over his daughter to the winner. But when Espian saw who he had one for his brother, his eyes widened with utter shock and disbelief, and he felt his heart hit the floor and shatter. Nella was equally stunned as she looked back at into the eyes of her lovely stallion, but her eyes soon turned to a look of silent utter joy and relief as she realized that Espian had won her. She was now truly his, and they could finally love one another openly. She had never told him her true name or from what alliance she was. It would have put both their lives in danger, and if was a reckless decision to continue the love affair even with Espian not knowing who she really was.
His gentle, darling love. She didn't know that he had not won her for himself, but infact, for his brother, and it tore at him even more to see the obvious joy and happiness in her eyes as she looked back at him.
So it was that Nella came to the Avion Realm and Espion presented her to her new mate and King, Callum. It cut at Espion's heart every day to see them together, and the stolen looks of anguished hurt and longing Nella gave him pained him even further, till the two lovers couldn't take it any longer, and they began an affair behind Callum's back.
Falling to Pieces
The months flew by, and finally Espian couldn't take it anymore. Callum's tender looks at Nella, his affection and obvious love towards her, it was eating at him. Espian lived with the pain of his deceitfulness every day, he grew quiet and aloof to his brother. Callum often questioned him about his behaviour towards him, it hurt him deeply and he couldn't understand why Espian had changed. And Espian could never tell him...
So finally he decided he had to leave the Avions. He told Callum one night when they were alone, and the news broke Callum's heart, but Espian was clear that he was leaving because he wanted to find and lead an alliance of his own, and it had nothing to do with Callum. His brother accepted it, and Espian thanked him and told him to tell Nella his goodbye as he was leaving almost immediately.
Espian fled his old alliance, his pride finally breaking and tears now streaming down his visage as he takes off at a reckless gallop out of the Avion territory and into the unknown...
Nella never had a chance to say goodbye, and she sobbed as she thought, "You've not only left me, Espian, you've left your unborn foal too"...
Soon after Espians leave, Nellas belly began to grow, and it was obvious that she was pregnant. But she knew in her heart that this foal was Espians, as only a mother could know. Nella gave birth to a healthy mare, and she named her Ebony. It seemed that Callum never suspected how different the young foal was in coloration to him, perhaps because so much of her looks were her mother. In fact, she was almost the splitting image of Nella, equally and if not, more beautiful with her fine, elegant visage... It tore at her when she looked down tearfully at her babe to think that Espian would never know of his daughter, and their daughter would never know the truth about Espian. Callum was a good and kind King, but Nella would never bring herself to tell him the truth, for she risked her life, as well as Espians.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, Marxus never intended to keep to the peace agreement. 3 weeks after the tournament, he imposed a new law stating that any Avions found in his territory were to be killed or taken as slaves.
The Avions responded in kind, and they too began to kill and enslave any Incendists found in their territory. The hatred between them is deep, and while the fighting between the Incendists and the Avions rages on, the Lesions refuse to get involved involved.
But now they have been thrown into a mess of turmoil by a new change of events. A new and dangerous resistance is gathering to overthrow the Lesion King, lead by the proud, hot headed and superior yearling stallion named Arlus. Their reasons for wanting to overthrow him are known only to them, but whispers are that they are involved somehow with Marxus, the war and its outcome.
Well aware of the coming resistance, Bolin is infuriated by the news. He is now between a rock and boulder, and he does the only thing he can do; he turns to the Avion equines for help. He offers his armies in to them, and in return their help against the Rebels. The Rebels are the Incendists side, and they very foolishly base their loyalty on the double-edged sword promises made by Marxus. They are blinded by promises of mares, glory, power and land.
The Alliances
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are 3 alliances here.
The Avions
The Lesions
The Incendists
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Lesions's Realm is in the mountains and high hills. They are the 'neutrals', and their qualities take on a mix of the other two Alliances.
The Avion's Realm is in a large portion of the forest and meadow regions. They can be compared to the 'lights' of other RPGs. Their qualities are of the 7 Virtues:
Prudence, justice, courage, love, faith, hope.
The Incendists's Realm is in a barren, hot region. They can be compared to the 'darks' of the other RPGS. Their qualities are of the 7 Deadly Sins:
Lust, envy, greed, sloth, pride, gluttony, wrath.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Choose which Alliance you want to join:
The Avions
The Lesions
The Incendists
Arlus's Rebel Group
Or roam the lands here as a Rogue, not wanting to get involved in the politics and war of the other Alliances.
