Character Form:
Name: Astronema
Gender: Mare
Age: 7
Chosen Alliance: Neutral (more light)
Breed: Friesian
Height: 17.2
Physical Description:
She is pure black, but she is also covered in scars. She even has one that goes down the length of her face. She is well distributed as far as muscles vs. fat goes. She is a very good looking horse...she is just a very scared and timid horse.
Personality and History:
When she was still a foal, her parents were taken prisoner by a very evil stallion named Blood Rising. They became his slaves. But his father was too outspoken and didn't usually obey, so he was killed very quickly. Right before my black beauty's eyes. Her mother shared the same fate a little later. Now Astronema was left alone. This meant there wasn't anyone to protect her from the stallions wrath. Every time she lifted her head up, she was punished. Every time she even began to smile, she was punished. A favorite way to punish was kicking, biting, or just beating the crap out of her...or solitary. Solitary wasn't really solitary. It was a small cave, big enough for about two horses. One of the horses was always Astro. The other one was always Blood, or a few of his little hinchmen who went around doing what Blood said. Solitary was where the three of them could do whatever they wanted (breeding) to you, and if you fought or tried to run there was always another one to try to stop you...and if you did that it usually got worse. Any children she had (and with the constant breeding she's had a few) are taken away from you before you even get to look at them. Another horse holds your head while Blood drags the foal away. She looked once, and suffered a painful blow the the head (the scar on her face) that left her unconscious for days, but she wouldn't trade that look for the world.
A few days later she escaped. It wasn't easy, and it meant the loss of several of her only friends, but now she's free. But she lives in fear. Fear that he will come back for her. She is very submissive now, barely lifting her head above her chest, and doesn't talk much, especially not smart alec remarks. And she used to be so bold and outspoken. Maybe she will become that again...with a little help.
Example RP post:
The ebon mare walked numbly across an open meadow. This was the first time she'd slowed down this much all day. She needed to stop, and her rumbling stomach made it all that much more obvious. She'd been stupid to try to keep going all day, and now she finally stopped. She sighed as she lowered her large head the last foot to the ground, and greedily devoured much of the grass beneath her, tearing and ripping to speed it up. She didn't know how much time she had. Surely he would be behind her...
No. She was all alone. But my little girl is so paranoid that she cant relax, even for a few minutes. She knows what will happen if he ever catches her. Let me just tell you it won't be pretty.
Grass rustles a few yards away and her head shoots up. What was that noise? It is only a little field mouse, searching for his next meal. Astronema you need to relax.
The mare twitches and flicks her ears in all directions before returning hastily to her first meal of the day.
While she eats, her mind wonders. Which is never a good thing. Because it always wonders to the same place and time. A place, that no creature in their right mind would want to be, and a time, that is better off being forgotten...but of course that just makes it easier to remember doesn't it? Isn't that funny? The memories we want the most to forget are the ones we have the easiest time remembering? Astro thinks that is because they are so engraved in our minds, that no matter how hard you try, you will always think ok it. Snow will fall, and you will think it is ash from the nearby volcano. Or, perhaps a horse will walk by, and it looks JUST like He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. Or just a cave. Such small things bring back big, horrible memories.
And nothing ever seems to help.
